Abbey of Gethsemani

Since 1848, when 44 Trappist Monks from the Abbey of Melleray in western France made themselves a new home in the hills

of Central Kentucky, Gethsemani has been a hardworking community.  Supporting themselves at first by farming, the monks

now depend on their mail-order sales of homemade fruitcake, cheese and bourbon fudge.  The Abbey is located at

Lincoln Boyhood Home

In 1811, the Lincolns moved to a Farm on Knob Creek.  Abraham's earliest memories was this home.  The Knob Creek is

Maker's Mark Distillery

Maker's Mark is the only operating distillery in America to be designated a National Historic Landmark. Originally built in 1805

as a gristmill distillery, it became the home of Maker’s Mark in 1953. Today, it is the oldest operating distillery on its original
