Park

The New Haven/Optimist Park consists of

2 ball fields, the Optimist Ball Field, and the Paul Mattingly Ball  Field. Also, available are

2 basketball courts, a tennis court,

2 playgrounds, and a lake for fishing.

In 2005, the lake was dredged with monies received from a Land & Water Conservation Grant. The City is in the process of restocking the lake with the assistance of the Kentucky Dept. of Fish & Wildlife. While fishing is limited to daylight hours, no admission is charged.

Pavilion/Clubhouse Rental

The Pavilion and Clubhouse can be rented at the City Park.  The cost of the Pavilion rental is $150.00 with $75.00 being refunded as long as all the garbage is picked up, the restrooms are clean, and no damage is done.  The Pavilion rental is from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm.  The restrooms in the clubhouse will be available for use.

The Clubhouse can be rented for $300.00, with a $150.00 refundable deposit.  The time for the rental will be 11:00 to 6:00.  The kitchen area will be available to use. 

Playgrounds

Playground equipment suitable for children 3 to 10 years of age was erected in the late 90's with donations from the Abbey of Gethsemani, Town & Country Bank and other local contributors. In 2004, a second playground set was added to the park for toddlers.
