The Easter Bunny has informed us that the 2010 Easter Egg Hunt was once again a great success.  Although it was raining on and off, we still had a wonderful turnout.  Over 4500 eggs were hunted and hundreds of bags of popcorn, hotdogs and drinks were enjoyed by all.  Over 40 door prizes were given away, which made 40 kids extremely happy!  Shrek and Barney were mingling with the children throughout the day.  The Phyllis Williamson Family was on hand to take pictures of the children with the Easter Bunny benefiting Hospice of Nelson County. There was also one other special guest this year, "Boogers".  Boogers is Kendyl Corbins' pony that she shared with the children of New Haven.  All kids were allowed to ride with or without a donation, but a $2 donation to the Humane Society of Nelson County was appreciated.  She made over $100 to present to the cats and dogs at the Humane Society.  We hope that Boogers will continue to join us during on Easter Festivities in the future. 

The City would like to send out a special thanks to all the great sponsors.  Without the sponsors this event would not be the success that it always is.  We hope that everyone enjoyed the day as much as we did.  We are looking forward to the 2011 Easter Egg Hunt being bigger and better.

2009 Easter Egg Hunt

The Easter Egg Hunt turned out wonderful.  The weather was a little windy, but great! 

There was a huge crowd.  We gave away 35 door prizes, 300 Hotdogs, hundreds of bags

of popcorn, drinks and 4500 Easter Eggs filled with candy.  We had a really great time

and we hope that everyone else did too.  The Easter Bunny, Easter Chicken, Mickey Mouse

and Minnie Mouse said that they enjoyed visiting with the New Haven Citizens and they

hoped to return to the 7th Annual Easter Egg Hunt in 2010.  The City of New Haven would

like to express a sincere thanks to all who sponsored the event and all who attended.

The City of New Haven will be hosting our 6th Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday,

April 11 at 12PM.  The Easter Egg Hunt will be at the City Park.  We will hide over

4000 eggs for the kiddos to find.  The kids will be divided into 4 age groups.  

We will serve refreshments and be giving numerous door prizes away throughout the

day.  Pictures with the Easter Bunny will be offered beginning at 11AM.  The profits from

the Easter Bunny Pictures will benefit Hospice of Nelson County.  Mickey Mouse,

Minnie Mouse and the Easter Chicken will also attend the Event.  We will be serving free refreshments.  We hope that you and your family will come out and join us for a day of fun!!
