"The Joy of Christmas"

New Haven Fire Department

Rolling Fork Fire Department
The New Haven/Rolling Fork Fire Departments have 31 members. We are fortunate to have
these wonderful volunteers who literally make a difference in all our lives. These men and
women devote many hours to New Haven, Southern Nelson County and Northern Larue County.
The 2009 Ice Storm was a test for the Fire Departments Disaster Plan. 686 man hours were
devoted to the Community. Thank you so much!!!

New Hope Fire Department

Grand Marshall - South Nelson Fast & Furious Soccer Team
The Grand Marshall of the 2009 Christmas Parade was the South Nelson Fast and Furious Soccer
Team. They were the 2009 Commonwwealth State Cup Champions coached by Sarah Rogers.
Sarah has coached for 20 years and was recognized by the KY Youth Soccer Association as the
2009 Volunteer of the Year for her dedication to the players and the community of New Haven. During
the 2009 Spring Season her team was featured on the United States Youth Soccer Show aired on Fox
Sports fo rtheir dedication to the breast cancer foundation. They raised $1500.00. South Nelson Fast
and Furious, you make us proud. Members of the team are Julia Rogers, Samantha Ballard,
Ameila Watkins, Katelyn Thompson, Marley Rogers, Hannah Thompson, Alex O'Bryan, Becca Ulrich,
Haliegh Cooper, Alaya DeWitt and Sierra Meza.

New Haven City Hall Float - Fred Mattingly and grandkids, Lexy, Jayden & Gannon

On the City's float we have the Kindergarten Santa - Gannon Mattingly. along with Santa are his two
elves, Lexy Peake and Jayden Belle Mattingly. Joining them is Papaw Mattingly. Grandchildren are
indeed the Joy of Christmas. Mayor Cecil, the Commissioners and the Staff would like to wish everyone
a very Merry Christmas and a Healthy and Happy New Year. The City Float was constructed by
Carroll Corbin and Fred Mattingly.

Kendyl Corbin and Family
Kendyl Corbin and Savanna Donahue believe there are many Joys of Christmas.
They both love looking at all the Christmas decorations and lights, spending time
with their families and of course they love to see what Santa Claus has delivered
to them on Christmas morning. Kendyl and Savanna would like to wish everyone
a Very Merry Christmas and they hope that everyone gets what they asked for.

Frosty the Snowman says Hello!!

New Haven Boy/Cub Scouts
Pack 996 and Troop 996 are riding on the New Haven Trolley. The Boy Scouts meet on the
1st and 3rd Thursdays. The Cub Scouts meet on the 1st, 2nd and 4th Tuesdays.
Cub Scout leader is Jeff Clements. Troop and Pack 996 have participated in various
fundraisers. They raised money for Max Dickerson. They participated in a Food Drive for the
needy. They are having a yardsale in the future and are accepting donations of gently used
items. They also helped with the ice storm cleanup. The Cub and Boy Scouts have been on
outings to Bear Hollow, Buck Haven, Mammoth Cave and Red River Gorge this year. For more information call Jeff Clements at 294-0936.

New Haven Library
Home for the Holidays Scene
Participants on the float are George, Linda , Billy, Tina, Elle, Vaughn & Charlie Clark, Abbie & Tyler Hall, Christy, Kate Guthrie, Frye and Pamela New Haven residents feel very luck to have such
a wonderful library in New Haven.
News quickly spread to the North Pole that New Haven was having their Christmas Parade,
so Santa gave some of his elves a break form making toys to enjoy a joyride through
New Haven in some of their own toys. Sponsored by Friends and Family of the Hair Affair.

Loving Care Daycare - Owner/Operator - Jessica Rogers
We enjoy opening presents. Logan, Braxton, Addison, Wesley and Marion are dressed in
their pajamas and ready to open their presents from Mom and Dad. The fire is keeping
everyone warm and cozy. It is off to bed for these kiddos after opening presents, so Santa
can come and visit. Savannah Rogers is dressed as a nicely wrapped present.

Loving Care Daycare - Owner/Operator - Jessica Rogers
We enjoy playing in the snow. Belle, Jack, Dalton, Macy, Chase and Everett are bundled up and
ready to play in the snow with their families. Mrs. Audrey and Andrew are playing Frosty and
Mrs. Doris is walking along with the kids.

Students on float - Savannah Clark, Michelle Mattingly, Matt Burba, Lisa Jo Wygal, Dylan Seng,
Tyler Hollinger, Amber & Madison Dile, Kelsi Hagan, Hailey Bernal, ashley Fulkerson and
Danielle Downs. Mrs. Mabe, Mr. Smith and Principal Mrs. Cindy Phelps also rode on the float.

St. Catherine Academy
Children are dressed in their p.j.'s sitting around holding their favorite stuffed animal and decorating
the Christmas tree. Kids on the float are Miranda Head, Caroline Boone, Grace Thompson, Taylor
Bryan, Cody Burton, Rhonda Burton, Kelsey Nichols, Davis O'Bryan, Anna K. O'Bryan, Emily Snellen
and Noah Snellen.

This Horse drawn hearse is owned by Fred Boone. The hearse was built in the 1800's by Mobile
and Sawyer who still builds hearses today. This hearse has been used recently for local funerals.

After the parade, Santa visited with the children
at City Hall. He brought along a few of his friends to visit also! Santa gave each child a gift and refreshments.
